PABLO ZABALETA is ready to snub Barcelona — and earn himself an extra £10,000 a week with Manchester City.
The Argentine full-back has been targeted by deposed La Liga giants Barca, who want him to team up with his close pal Lionel Messi next season.
But Zabaleta, 27, has quickly made it clear to the Premier League champions he is desperate to stay at the Etihad.
And that will earn him an improved deal, even though City have no plans to extend his contract as he is already tied to them until 2015.
Zabaleta, signed for £6.5million from Spaniards Espanyol in 2008, is set for a rise as his salary of £65,000 a week currently makes him one of City’s lower earners.
The Argie was a regular in the title run-in and boss Roberto Mancini has made it clear Zabaleta has a major role in his future plans.
