WOE ... Frank Lampard (centre) failed to finish England training due to an injury
Published: Today at 13:55
FRANK LAMPARD has dealt England an injury scare ahead of Euro 2012.
The Chelsea midfielder pulled up in training with a thigh problem today and
will have a scan on Thursday.
Liverpool's Jordan Henderson is on standby to replace Lampard, should he fail to recover in time for the tournament.
Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has already lost Gareth Barry through injury ahead of the European Championship.
It would mean captain Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker are England's first-choice central midfield partnership.
Meanwhile, Lampard hopes Chelsea's Champions League success can inspire the national team this summer.
He said: "The Champions League win is one of those things you will always look back on in the future and it will get better and better with age.
"It's been such a long time for us as individuals and for Chelsea as a club to win it. It was such a special thing. It will be something that people will remember with the best memories.
"I'm hoping the fact we've had such a success can help greatly with England.
"There are other people here who have won the Champions League before and other players who have had good seasons and are coming here in a rich vein of form."
Lampard added: "You have to try and bring together all of the positives.
"We will try and bring the fact we've achieved something this year, potentially against the odds with Chelsea, and maybe that's what England will be up against odds-wise this summer.
"We showed what can be achieved and there is nothing wrong with that feeling (of being underdogs) as long as we are focused as a group."
