The Orlando Magic say Dwight Howard won't be in the room when a new coach is picked. But should he be?
With the ouster of Stan Van Gundy, should the Magic be picking a FOD?
Certainly Van Gundy didn't appear to be a friend of Howard's.
Writes Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY:
The right time is sometimes just that, the right time, regardless of circumstances.
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard and coach Stan Van Gundy did not meet eye-to-eye this season, so it was no surprise that the club let Van Gundy go Monday....
...There also was no way Orlando could keep Van Gundy if they wanted to keep Howard long-term, and that's what the Magic want to do. The situation had become unsustainable, entertaining news conferences aside.
So how do you feel about Howard getting a say in who coaches him?
