Bertrand in frame

The England Under-21 left-back has never even been a sub in Europe.
Boss Roberto Di Matteo is considering starting Bertrand in a midfield role against Bayern as French ace Florent Malouda injured a hamstring in Sunday’s win over Blackburn.
Ramires and Raul Meireles are banned but Bertrand, 22, is poised to get the nod over Daniel Sturridge.
Di Matteo believes Bertrand will give greater defensive support to Ashley Cole.
But he will only finalise his team this morning once Malouda’s fitness is assessed. If Bertrand does start, it would complete a remarkable rise for a player who was not even included in the Champions League squad at the start of the season by former boss Andre Villas-Boas.
He was added at the end of January following the exits of Alex and Nicolas Anelka.
Bertrand has made just 12 starts for the Blues since joining for £125,000 from Gillingham in July 2005.
