Roy Hodgson named England manager
ENGLAND EXPECTS ... new Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson
Published: Today at 12:22

ROY HODGSON will be unveiled as the new England manager at a 4pm Press conference today.

The FA approached the West Brom boss on Sunday after making him their No1 target.
And after holding talks with football chiefs at Wembley on Monday, Hodgson’s appointment will be confirmed this afternoon.
The 64-year-old is expected to be handed a four-year contract which will cover the three tournaments up to and including Euro 2016.
He is likely to remain in charge for West Brom’s final two Premier League games against Bolton and Arsenal.
Hodgson’s deal with the Baggies expires on June 30, meaning the FA will avoid a big compensation pay-off to land their man.

The former Liverpool boss held a “positive” four-hour meeting yesterday with the FA’s four-man panel of David Bernstein, Alex Horne, Sir Trevor Brooking and Adrian Bevington.
He returned to Wembley shortly after midday today where he will put pen to paper on a deal.
Plans for Euro 2012 are already in place with a short training stint in Spain planned before friendlies away in Norway and against Belgium at Wembley.

Hodgson was photographed leaving the national stadium yesterday with a draft itinerary for this summer’s tournament.
It is widely assumed England’s current caretaker manager Stuart Pearce will remain on the senior coaching staff in addition to his roles as Under-21 and British Olympic team boss.
However, Pearce will not now select England’s Euro 2012 squad, which he confirmed last week had been pencilled in for unveiling on May 10.
