CSKA Moscow moved into pole position for UEFA Champions League qualification after a 3-0 win at Lokomotiv Moscow in the Russian Premier League.
The hosts suffered an early setback when they had Manuel da Costa sent off after seven minutes, but Seydou Doumbia opened the scoring from the spot on nine minutes. And, Zoran Tosic wrapped up the win with a late brace to take CSKA two points clear of city rivals Dinamo in the race for second place behind champions Zenit St Petersburg with two games to go.
Dinamo were made to settle for a 1-1 draw at Spartak Moscow, who are a point further back in fourth. Kevin Kuranyi put Dinamo ahead in the third minute before Ari levelled two minutes after the break.
Anzhi Makhachkala missed the chance to strengthen their grip on fifth place as they threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at Kuban Krasnodar. Goals from Mbark Boussoufa and Samuel Eto'o had Anzhi two up after 22 minutes, but goals either side of half-time from David Tsoraev and Igor Armas earned the hosts a point.
Zenit twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at Rubin Kazan. Sergei Semak cancelled out Alexander Ryazantsev's opener before Andrei Arshavin made it 2-2 after Bibras Natkho had restored Rubin's lead.
At the other end of the table, Volga Nizhny Novgorod missed the chance to secure at least a third-bottom finish as they lost 3-1 at home to Terek Grozny. Aleksandr Shulenin put the hosts in front after 11 minutes, but Terek fought back after the break with goals from Igor Lebedenko, Maciej Rybus and a Zaur Sadaev penalty.
Yura Movsisyan scored the opening goal and then an own goal as Krasnodar drew 2-2 at Amkar Perm. Joaozinho had put Krasnodar 2-1 in front after Vitali Grishin's leveller.
Rostov were held to a 2-2 draw at already-relegated Spartak Nalchik. A Hector Bracamonte penalty and an Alexandru Gatcan strike put Rostov in front after Semen Fomin's early opener. But Roman Kontsedalov netted from the spot in the 80th minute to earn Spartak a point.
The match ended ten aside with Spartak's Aleksei Aravin and Rostov's Igor Smolnikov both sent off.
