ROBERTO MANCINI reckons Carlos Tevez is destined to score the winner in tonight’s mother of all derbies.
And the Italian would love it all the more if his Manchester City side go on to clinch the title at the expense of neighbours United.
Tevez has fired in four goals in seven games since returning to the line-up five weeks ago after six months on strike.
Mancini said: “I think Carlos is destined to score the most important goal in the history of this club. This is my belief.”
A City victory at the Etihad will put them top on goal difference with two games left, after they recently trailed Alex Ferguson’s side by eight points.
Pipping United to the Premier League crown would remind Mancini of his time in Milan, when he pushed AC aside to win three Serie A titles with Inter.
He added: “I think it is good to win the title against your neighbours, rather than a team from another part of the country.
“It is better. I had this in Milan with Inter.
“It would be more satisfying, because it is so important for the city of Manchester to have two great teams like City and United.”
