Theatre of screams

Just two days after £74million ‘The Scream’ became the most expensive artwork ever sold at auction, the United boss admits the 4-4 home draw with Everton on April 22 could be priceless to City.
Fergie said: “If we lose the league we’ll have to accept it was the Everton game that did it.
"That game was the killer for us, no doubt.”
United were 4-2 up with seven minutes left but two late Everton goals cost Fergie’s team a vital two points — and left the Scotsman screaming louder than the haunting subject of Norwegian artist Edvard Munch’s 1895 pastel.
City took advantage and, after Monday’s 1-0 derby victory over United, are now top on goal difference with two games to go.
And as Fergie prepared for tomorrow’s game against Swansea, he added: “The last 10 minutes of the Everton match was an absolutely ridiculous performance — just absolute carelessness.
“It’s all right saying the history of the club is to attack all the time but it was a stupid performance and it’s put us on the back foot, no question about that.”
United had hung in behind City for most of the season then powered past them to take an EIGHT-POINT advantage.
Now United have staged a remarkable collapse of their own to take just four points from their last 12.
But City still have it all to do with a tough trip to Champions League-chasing Newcastle tomorrow before United entertain Swansea.
Ferguson is pinning his hopes on Alan Pardew’s men doing them a favour. He said: “That is a tough game, they know that, everyone knows that. But we’re on the back foot. We’re not favourites, that’s for sure.”
Wayne Rooney may have picked up the award for the best EVER Premier League goal for his brilliant overhead kick against City in 2011.
But United did not even have a shot on target at the Etihad as City won 1-0 through Vincent Kompany’s header in first-half injury time.
Fergie admitted: “We didn’t test the keeper, let’s be honest.”
While the pressure is intense once more for City and United, Ferguson spared a thought for the clubs at the bottom.
He said: “The only place you want to play is the Premier League so for Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, and QPR that is pressure.”
