Ghana did not allow a floodlight failure to derail them as they opened their FIFA World Cup™ Qualifying Group D campaign with a 7-0 rout of Lesotho.
The Black Stars were leading 4-0 when the match was suspended in the 54th minute, to the embarrassment of watching president John Atta Mills.
Dominic Adiyiah had scored twice with Sulley Muntari and Jordan Ayew also on the scoresheet by that point, and three goals in the last five minutes gave the scoreline an even more emphatic look. Ayew netted his second and Christian Atsu and Jeremiah Akaminko also notched.
