BERT VAN MARWIJK tore into his Dutch flops after they were left on the brink of a humiliating Euro 2012 exit.
Mario Gomez’s double downed Holland and Van Marwijk fumed: “What do you expect? We defended really poorly and the link-up play between the defenders and two holding midfielders was average at best.
“If you want to beat Germany you have to be top class in all 11 positions and we were far from that.
"Too many players had average games and there was no threat from the wings. The players have only themselves to blame for this.”
Robin van Persie got a goal back for Holland but it was too little, too late.
Star Midfielder Wesley Sneijder said: “What can you say after a display like that?
“There were great expectations of this side but we’re on the brink of embarrassing elimination.
"I just feel sorry for the loyal fans who travelled all this way to see this.”
