Musa we Missed Mikel, Osaze Against Namibia (COMPLETE SPORTS NIGERIA)

Super Eagles dashing winger, Ahmed Musa, has bemoaned the absence of the duo of John Mikel Obi and Osaze Odemwingie in the team that managed a slim one goal win against Namibia in Calabar last Sunday.

Musa told Complete Sports at a media parley in Abuja that it was not as if the duo were indispensable, but was of opinion that they certainly could have helped the team in that match, adding that the entire team really missed them and other experienced players.

“Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that if Osaze and Mikel were in that game, we could have scored a dozen of goals; no, what I am saying is that their experience could have been beneficial to the team.
We won by a lone goal because we were determined and the fans kept urging us on with their support."
“Osaze and Mikel are good players any day, anytime, and I know that the coaches would still call on them for future encounters but for now,  we have to work hard and ensure that we continue to win all our  matches. I think they a role to play in the rebuilding process but it is left for the ‘Big  Boss' Keshi to decide whether they 'll fit in or not,” he stated.

On his performance in Calabar, Musa rated himself above average, even as he assured that he would be firing on all cylinders against Malawi in Blantyre. He also admitted that the Eagles cannot afford to fritter chances on Saturday like they did against Namibia at home.

The former Kano pillars FC striker who now plies his trade in Russia with Locomotiv Moscow posited that the match against Malawi will be tough, but was optimistic that the Super Eagles would come out victorious in the end.
