JOE HART insists England have every right to be proud of their display against Belgium.
The Three Lions won the second match of Roy Hodgson's reign thanks to a 36th-minute goal from Danny Welbeck.
And Manchester City stopper Hart was delighted to pick up a victory ahead of the first Euro 2012 fixture with France on June 11.
He said: "It was a really good game for us.
"Although it was slightly bitty at times, it was good to get the result against a strong Belgium side."
Hart also claims England have become a tougher nut to crack under Hodgson's leadership.
He added: "It seems that way, we've been very resilient so far.
"Danny finished his chance very well but we've got to improve in all areas.
"We need to trust each other a bit more on the ball and we'll do that during the tournament.
"It's going to be tough against France but we'll be united as a side and give it a damn good go.
"We're going to train hard and go into the game full of confidence."
Despite seeing Chelsea duo Gary Cahill and John Terry pick up injuries, Hodgson was full of optimisim at full-time.
Cahill must undergo an X-ray on his jaw, while Terry's hamstring strain will require monitoring in the coming days.
But Hodgson said: "I'm very pleased because it's been a hard week.
"There were a lot of disruptions in the second half with the changes, some of which were forced up on us, but we've got to be happy to come out with a victory.
"Cahill is slightly more of a concern because it's a jaw injury. We're hoping the scan shows it's just bruising and not a fracture."
