During ESPN's pregame show before Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals Thursday, Jeff Van Gundy decided to connect with a younger audience.

With some over-the-top, lenseless frames, Van Gundy began trending on Twitter and joined a crowd of young fashion-forward NBA minds like Russel Westbrook and LeBron James.
There's nothing wrong with having a little fun on camera, and certainly nothing wrong with trying to fit in with the cool kids. Even if the cool kids are wearing fishing lure T-shirts.

But let's give credit where credit is due. Before Westbrook, James, and now Van Gundy, there was a pioneer in giant framed, lenseless glasses, and it's time that we all start giving him his due.
Nothing beats an original.
