England replace Owen Farrell with Toby Flood for South Africa Test (BBC)

Toby Flood will replace Owen Farrell at fly-half for the second Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.

Jonathan Joseph makes his first Test start in one of five changes to the side that lost the first Test in Durban.

Ben Foden moves to full-back for the injured Mike Brown and David Strettle comes on to the left wing.

"The time is right (for Toby) to demonstrate his experience and skills," coach Stuart Lancaster said.

Joseph comes in at number 13 in place of Manusamoa Tuilagi, who switches inside to replace the injured Brad Barritt.

"I am delighted for JJ - he has trained very well and showed against the Barbarians and in his short time on the field in the first Test that he is ready to make the step to international rugby," Lancaster said.

"To have two 21-year-old centres is exciting and we are looking forward to seeing this combination in action."

Farrell scored four penalties in the first Test, but his distribution and decision making was below par and 48-times capped Flood impressed more when he came on as a 54th minute substitute for Barritt in Durban.

However, Lancaster backed Farrell to make a contribution at Ellis Park if introduced as a replacement.

"Owen has had a fantastic season and I am sure he will make a significant impact from the bench," he said.

There are two changes in the replacements with Alex Corbisiero in for Paul Doran Jones and Alex Goode taking over from Flood.

South Africa have made just the one change to their line-up for Saturday's second game of the three-Test series.

Pat Lambie is recalled at full-back in place of Zane Kirchener, who suffered a knee injury in the first Test.
