Alexi Lalas went on Mike & Mike and was asked by Adnan Virk about Lionel Messi's chances in Euro 2012. It's a completely valid question. Except Messi won't be there. Because he's from Argentina. Which isn't in Europe.

To his credit, Lalas appears unfazed by the question and goes on to give a well-informed, geographically correct reply.
In Virk's defense, Messi does play in Europe with club-team Barcelona. However, since the Euros feature national teams, Barca won't be participating.
