Blues: No way back, Frank
Last Updated: 07th January 2013
FRANK LAMPARD will not be offered a new deal by Chelsea “under any circumstances.”
Lamps was stunned when reports emerged Blues had changed their minds about kicking him out.
The star’s agent Steve Kutner said last night: “Chelsea executives told Frank in Japan then again re-confirmed with his agent after the Everton victory that, in no circumstances, will he be offered a new contract to stay at Chelsea Football Club after the end of this season.
“Nothing since has changed in any respect.
“Frank has had to accept that and just wants to carry on playing football for Chelsea so as to finish the season as successfully as possible for the club that he loves.”
Lampard’s current deal runs out in June. And Kutner confirmed the England midfielder’s meeting with Chelsea executives at last month’s World Club Championship meant he could start talking to other clubs from January 1.
Kutner double-checked the situation after Lamps, 34, scored twice in Blues’ 2-1 win at Everton on December 30.
Lampard has been embarrassing the Stamford Bridge hierarchy with his performances since SunSport first revealed on Boxing Day the club planned to boot him out.
His penalty in Saturday’s 5-1 FA Cup romp at Southampton equalled Kerry Dixon’s tally of 193 goals, nine behind Blues’ all-time top scorer, Bobby Tambling.
