ALEX FERGUSON has revealed the training secrets that have turned Manchester United into one of the world’s best club sides.
The Old Trafford chief has picked up 37 pieces of silverware in his 25 years at the club.
And Fergie claims it is his philosophy of attacking play that has been the catalyst for United’s success.
Ferguson places an emphasis on making things easier for his forward players in training — often using only one defender to mark two attackers.
He said: “Our sessions are powerful and insightful and encourage players to practise hard, perfect their roles and reinforce habits.
“It is at the heart of why we are regarded as such a potent attacking force in the Premier League.”
Fergie’s use of a three-ball system helps keeps the players on their toes.
He explained: “Defenders and attackers must always readjust their positions to deal with the next ball arriving.
“The aim is to make the routine more competitive and, at the same time, demand creativity and unpredictability in forward play.”
And Ferguson — talking to Elite Soccer — gives his stars licence to show off their skills by awarding two goals if a player scores with a volley or header from a cross.
No surprise, then, that Wayne Rooney netted THAT incredible overhead kick against Manchester City.
