THE FA will bank a £20million jackpot if they win Euro 2012.
But boss Roy Hodgson last night said: “I’m not interested in money, just medals.”
England pocketed around £6.7m for qualifying for the finals in Poland and Ukraine.
And Hodgson’s men swelled the coffers further by taking seven points in Group D from two wins and a draw which paid out £2.2m.
Victory in the quarter-final pays another £1.7m, the semis £2.5m and the final £6.2m for a near-£20m booty.
The players will have to be paid bonuses related to success, which will total in the region of £4m if they lift the trophy.
But that still leaves the FA with a healthy profit, even allowing for the costs of accommodation and flights.
But Hodgson is only thinking about glory.
As he prepared for tomorrow’s quarter-final against Italy, he said: “Money is the last thing on the players’ minds. I have no idea what it’s worth.
“It would mean a lot more if we win it. It would be nice to see a medal hanging round our necks.”
