Roll out the Carroll (THE SUN)

Andy Carroll
AWAY THE LAD ... Kop want Geordie hitman Carroll out
Last Updated: 18th July 2012

ANDY CARROLL has been told he CAN leave Anfield.

The star’s advisors spoke with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers yesterday and were told the striker is not part of his plans.
Carroll’s former club Newcastle remain in the hunt and SunSport understands they are preparing a second bid of £16million.
A Toon return remains Carroll’s No 1 choice with a move to West Ham not an option. Carroll ideally wants to stay and prove he is worth the £35m paid by the Reds 18 months ago.
The 23-year-old is furious with Rodgers’ treatment of him — especially as he is still on holiday.
Carroll reckons the boss has hung him out to dry without being given a chance to prove himself. The England player’s camp also believe Kop chiefs have gone back on a loan plan by saying they will listen only to £20m offers. Newcastle’s first approach of £12m was snubbed.
Liverpool maintain they will allow a loan with a view to a permanent deal IF the deal is right.
Toon hero Alan Shearer exclusively told SunSport yesterday that Carroll should leave if he is not wanted.
A source close to Carroll said: “Andy was determined to fight for his place until all this. He wants to prove a point but, as it seems, that has to be away from Liverpool, then so be it.”
Carroll will hold crunch talks with Rodgers on his return on Monday.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew knows any decision on a Carroll deal lies with Toon owner Mike Ashley.
He said: “Sometimes transfers are done at corporate level.”
