AGONY AND ECSTASY ... Andy Murray feels the tension at Flushing Meadows on his way to becoming Britain's first Grand Slam title winner in 76 years

ANDY MURRAY finally broke his Grand Slam duck as he won an epic US Open final.
Britain’s Olympic champion took nearly five strength-sapping hours to see off Serbia’s Novak Djokovic 7-6 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2 in New York.
Victory gave Murray his first Major in his fifth Grand Slam final. But after storming into a two sets to love lead it looked the Scot had blown it as Djokovic fought back to level.
But Murray found another gear in the final set and sent the Flushing Meadows crowd wild with delight as he served out for the title.
Murray becomes Britain's first Grand Slam winner since Fred Perry was crowned Wimbledon champion in 1936.
