"I'm not sure what all this talk is about, but the Madrid fans we want are ones that love us and support us in all weather and that's exactly what I see. Our fans support us come rain or shine", Xabi Alonso stated this Wednesday in Madrid with reference to José Mourinho's statements at the beginning of the week. Alonso is already back training with Real after taking part in Spain's two recent World Cup qualifiers.
The Spaniard was the centre of attention this morning at the presentation of Emidio Tucci's 'Black' fashion line, which he used to make a play on words to describe the current injury problems in defence at Real Madrid: "Things are 'black-black'… very bad. It's unbelievable that we’ve lost three full-backs in seven days. It's very unfortunate but the coach is already looking for a solution".
Arbeloa's injury, after which Spain struggled more against France, has won the Real Madrid full-back acclaim: "Alvaro has no need to prove himself because he’s greatly appreciated by both his teammates and coaches. I know him well and he doesn't need to prove himself to the public, inside the team he's appreciated".
