REAL MADRID are confident of signing Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric in the next 48 hours.
Spurs want a hefty fee and possibly a player in part-exchange for the Croatian midfielder, 26.
Real are open to negotiations and are willing to spend £35million in cash alone to get their man.
New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas will not stand in the way, but is refusing to let Rafael van der Vaart leave. AVB said: “I am counting on Van der Vaart. He’s in a different situation to Luka Modric.”
