DERECK CHISORA has branded heavyweight rival David Haye ‘a joke’ ahead of tonight’s Sun-backed Upton Park showdown.
Del Boy is furious Haye refused to agree to his plea to make the showdown the full 12-round championship distance instead of the 10 currently scheduled.
Haye has stood firm by insisting on sticking to the original contract from when the fight was made.
That stipulates just the 10 rounds.
The hope was that once the bout received full WBA backing as a title fight — it is now for the WBA and WBO International titles — Haye would agree to change the deal from the one agreed when it was a non-title bout.
Chisora raged: “David Haye’s a joke.
“Ten rounds? This is a former world champion we’re talking about here and he wants to do the biggest fight in Britain over ten rounds. He’s a pussy.
“When I heard that he wouldn’t do the 12 against me, I knew that he has started to brick it already.
“It just goes to show he’s scared that if it goes the distance and I drag him into the trenches in the last rounds, and his tank is running empty, he’s in big trouble.
“What’s the excuse going to be when he loses this one?
“The toe has been done already and he’ll never live that one down. Maybe the little finger this time?
“But this fight is not going to go the full distance anyway.
“Three rounds or ten rounds, Haye is getting knocked out.”
