LOUIS VAN GAAL feels he was stabbed in the back by Jose Mourinho.
The axed Manchester United boss is seething over the way his old pal replaced him at Old Trafford.
A source close to LVG said: “Louis feels betrayed by how Jose took over and how he was sacked.
“He didn’t believe he would be axed after the FA Cup win and now realises what happened since December with Mourinho.
“Louis feels stabbed in the back by Jose... and by the club.”
LVG and the Special One texted regularly until the second half of the season, when the Dutchman’s suspicions grew.

And “the friendship is no more” according to sources close to him.
LVG, now at his holiday home in Portugal, is fuming over how he has been treated — which included his wife Truus telling him the BBC were reporting his sacking and Mourinho’s arrival.
That came moments after United had lifted the FA Cup at Wembley and Van Gaal felt he would keep his job.
The source added: “He had heard everything during the season but the fact remained he was still manager and then won the prize of the FA Cup.

“Maybe his own personality meant he didn’t believe it, yet at Wembley he still didn’t have any official word about his future.
“It was only when he got a text from United boss Ed Woodward on Sunday afternoon, asking for talks as the United train was approaching Stockport, that he knew it was over.”
The pair met at 5pm at Van Gaal’s home and it was there that his fate was sealed.
And veteran boss LVG, 64, asked Woodward to tell staff face-to-face the following day at the club’s Carrington HQ.

He had talked regularly with Woodward in his first year in charge but last season that tailed off.
Contact with Mourinho, who became a good friend after working under him at Barcelona, also stopped.
