Floyd Mayweather's exciting unanimous decision victory against Miguel Cotto last Saturday at the MGM Grand sold 1.5 million pay-per-view buys, which generated $94 million in gross revenue, the second-most ever for a non-heavyweight fight.
HBO carried the pay-per-view telecast, which was promoted by Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions.
Mayweather (43-0, 26 KOs) holds the all-time PPV record, regardless of weight division. His victory against Oscar De La Hoya in May 2007 generated 2.4 million buys, and grossed $137 million.
Mayweather vs. Cotto, and the co-feature of Canelo Alvarez vs. Shane Mosley, which Alvarez won by unanimous decision, will be replayed on HBO Saturday at 10:15 p.m. ET/ PT.
